Wood furniture 100 years in use

Laug is an interdisciplinary design studio in Trondheim and carpentry workshop at Grindal in Rennebu. An architect, a furniture designer and a carpenter work closely together to get the best out of every room and every log.

Based on a product series, solid wood interiors are carefully crafted to ensure a customized solution for each project. In our products, old craft traditions meet new design concepts, and high-quality locally sourced materials ensure ethical and sustainable production. The products must be practical in use and have an aesthetic depth that gives them lasting value.
Laug's vision is "100 years in use".

Process

INITIAL CONTACT - VISIT

What is the starting point? What dreams and needs do you have? We are ready to come for a non-binding inspection to find this out! We bring measuring equipment and material samples, ready to help you make the most of every millimeter of your space.

INITIAL PROPOSAL

We then prepare a drawing proposal with prices. We look at how the existing layout can be optimized and draw up the best solutions based on our product ranges. Every little detail has to be in place and we go the extra mile to ensure that you as a customer are satisfied.

PRODUCTION IN RENNEBU

When the final solution has been approved, the drawings are put into production at our workshop in Rennebu. Carefully selected materials from the local area are processed according to the old carpentry knowledge. The installation date is clarified and half of the purchase price is paid.

FURNITURE ASSEMBLY

Furnishings are assembled and handed over. You now have a piece of furniture that will last for generations - our vision is that the quality and design should be so good that it will be in use 100 years from now.

"Based on craftsmanship and tradition, I want to create the new. My goal is for Laug to become a counterpart to industrial and commercial production of furnishings. The products must be good for everyday use and have an aesthetic weight that makes them last through several generations."
